Big Ocean members are sites, as represented by their managers. Big Ocean members may also choose to invite additional participants to contribute to a meeting or other Big Ocean initiative. For example: NGO partners, researchers, donors, and non-managers. Becoming a member is a process of referral from an existing member site.
If you are willing to contribute to the network and––a manager of a large scale marine managed area (or proposed area) looking for peer support; interested in establishing a large-scale site; an NGO involved in, or wanting to become involved in, large-scale marine conservation; a researcher interested in focusing on marine conservation at-scale; and/or are part of a group, organization or NGO supporting a large scale site or management at-scale, please contact us.
Big Ocean has a one-way list serve that provides updates about the network’s activities, as well as general information and links to articles and news about issues relevant to large scale marine management. If you want to join our list serve, please send an e-mail to: email@example.com with “subscribe” in the subject line.
